11 Reasons You Should Have An Autumn Family Photoshoot
Autumn is one of my favourite seasons. The feeling of warmth and cosiness and colours of the changing leaves is just beautiful.
For these reasons and more that I have shared below, Autumn is the perfect time for a family photoshoot.
Beautiful Colours
As I mentioned, the colours in Autumn are gorgeous, with dark greens, browns and almost golden coloured leaves. This means the background of your photos is going to be warm and stunning.
Good Weather
Autumn isn’t too cold or too hot so you shouldn’t end up with photos of you all either red and sweaty or gritting your teeth through the cold.
A Fun Experience
Something I prioritise is making sure everyone is enjoying their time at the photoshoot. It should be a fun experience for the whole family. I won’t be asking you to stand in certain places and give awkward smiles to the camera. Instead, it’s really relaxed and we can incorporate some light games to ensure it’s fun for all. I wrote an article all about what happens at an outdoor photoshoot here.
Personalised Photos
Every family’s photos should be completely unique to them. Again, this is why I don’t ask anyone to stand in specific poses but let everyone do whatever comes naturally. This way, you get the genuine smiles, laughter and emotions of your own family.
Gorgeous Outfits
I love an Autumn wardrobe. You can wear thick warm jumpers, dresses and hats but not have to be fully rugged up in thick coats. You can also choose colours that complement nature like browns, mustards and oranges.
Get Photos Of Your Kids While They’re At This Age
As Mums, we hear it all the time, ‘Kids grow so fast’ but unfortunately this is so true. Every year can bring about massive changes in our kids, especially the younger they are. Make sure you are capturing them at all stages of their lives, within your family.
An Autumn Family Photoshoot Is A Stress-free Process
Once a photoshoot is booked in I ensure to make it as stress free as possible. You will receive a welcome guide with some tips and tricks to help you prepare for the shoot and I am on hand to answer any questions you might have. There will also be no awkward in person sales involved. Instead, you get to view your images in private in the comfort of your own home.

Perfectly Placed Between Summer and Christmas
Autumn is perfectly placed between Summer and Christmas so that you are still feeling the chilled vibes that Summer bought yet not yet amongst the chaos of Christmas.
Thoughtful Christmas Gifts
Speaking of Christmas, you can use the images from your photoshoot to turn into lovely Christmas gifts for friends, families and teachers.
Various Locations To Choose From
I have already mentioned the benefits of an outside Autumn family Photoshoot (the colours, the weather etc) and we are so lucky to have many locations within Northamptonshire to have one. However, you can also have your photoshoot at home, either completely inside or with part of it taking place in your garden, giving you the best of both worlds!
