7 reasons To Have A Summer Family PhotoShoot In Northants

Summer is an amazing time to have a family photo shoot in Northants. The sun is (mostly) shining and we are lucky to have loads of beautiful locations in our area. Although it’s not the only good time to have a family photoshoot, I have listed here 7 reasons why Summer is one of the best!

Longer days

The longer days in Summer mean there is more time throughout the day of good lighting to have some photos. Instead of being restricted to the hours of 9am to 4pm, the sun can be shining right through from around 6am up until 9pm. Now while I don’t recommend having a photoshoot with young kids this late into the evening it does allow for more flexibility.

Fun, family outing

A common misconception about a photoshoot is that it will involve a lot of awkward posing and getting the kids to stand still and look at the camera. While this is true for some photographers, it is not for me and this is something you need to consider when looking for the right photographer for you. I don’t force anyone to stand in certain places and give me their cheesiest grins. Instead, I encourage real, meaningful moments to happen between you all. I will often let the kids lead, and if needed, suggest some games to play to ensure the whole family is having a fun time together. I encourage families not to think of it as a photoshoot as such, but rather a fun morning/afternoon out to spend quality time together.

Get the whole family in the pictures

If your photo reel is anything like mine, then it’s all pictures of my kids, very few of which include me. In most families there is that one person who takes all the photos so is rarely in any of them themselves. Having a summer family photoshoot ensures that the whole family is pictured together. It is so important that as your kids grow they see each person’s presence in their life, whether that’s the parents, grandparents, cousins – anyone!

Can wear your summer wardrobe

I don’t know about you but I much prefer my Summer wardrobe. You can pull out those beautiful floaty dresses and you’re not forcing the kids to keep their coats on when they insist they are not cold, even though it’s only 9 degrees! It also means you’re not freezing and trying not to show it in the pictures!

Everyone is happier in summer

Summer just seems to bring about that sense of calmness and happiness and this can show in the photos. Even those who work full time, usually have a bit of time off during the Summer to spend with family and this really lifts the tension that’s built up over Winter.

School holidays means more flexibility

With the kids not being at school for 6 weeks, it massively opens up your time available to have the shoots. You don’t have to rely on the weekends which are usually booked up with sports, parties, visiting family etc.

Use The images to gift to family

Not only does having a summer family photoshoot update your own family albums but they can make great gifts for the family. You can get the images printed to give to the grandparents to show off or even have them printed on mugs, t-shirts, keyrings etc!

I hope this has shown you the benefits of having a summer family photoshoot in Northants. If you would like to learn more about what having a photoshoot with me involves then check out my brochure.
